A Letter from Coach Mark

Dear LARR Athlete,

Welcome to the LA Road Runners training program! I am thrilled that you have chosen LARR as your training program for the Los Angeles Marathon! LARR has assisted thousands of athletes of all ages and ability levels over the years achieve what was once an unthinkable dream. I am proud to say that I was one of these athletes, a true testament to the power of this program.

It is my goal as your coach, Maria Miller your Program Coordinator and that of your LARR Pace Leaders over the next 26 weeks to provide you with the proper training as you embark on this wonderful journey.

You may have started out a single lone athlete, but you are now a member of our LARR family.  We will all offer support, encouragement and years of experience.  Plus, you will have the opportunity to create new friendships and lasting memories. Do not underestimate the power of our LARR family for it will propel you to the finish line come marathon day.  Trust me, I was once in your shoes, so I speak from experience!

As our journey begins from the iconic Dodger Stadium winding through the streets of downtown Los Angeles, passing beautiful Echo Park, the star studded hills of Hollywood, glamorous Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, and finishing along the Avenue of the Stars in Century City, there is no greater sense of accomplishment as when you cross the finish line and call yourself a marathoner!  The sense of accomplishment and emotions that you feel will be second to none.

On race day as you cross the finish line you have earned the right to call yourself a MARATHONER!  One of the ELITE 1% of the world’s population who can claim this exclusive title!  BE PROUD, and BELIEVE IN YOURSELF as much as we do!

Sincerely,
