The 2020 Santa Monica Classic will take place on September 13, 2020.

The Start Line of the Santa Monica Classic is located just west of Ocean View Park on Barnard Way. Runners will be able to see the Start Line structure as they approach Ocean View Park.
Santa Monica Classic 5K
The race will begin promptly at 8:05 am following the High School Challenge. Runners should begin lining up for the Santa Monica Classic 5K no earlier than 7:30 am. Please seed yourself according to expected race pace — quicker runners at the front of the start chute, slower runners to the back. For those that will be walking with a stroller, please place yourself at the very back of the pack to minimize any disruption of other runners.
Santa Monica Classic 10K
The race will begin promptly at 8:30 am. Runners participating in the Santa Monica Classic 10K should wait until the 5K race has started and cleared the start chute before lining up for the start of the 10K race. Please seed yourself according to expected race pace — quicker runners at the front of the start chute, slower runners to the back. For those that will be walking with a stroller, please place yourself at the very back of the pack to minimize any disruption of other runners.

Instructions for Parents: Each child will be given a participant bib that must be pinned to their clothing. The participant bib will feature a parent tear tag, which should be removed from the bib and held onto by the parent. Parents may run with their child (only one parent per child), but must show the tear tag to be permitted into the start corral. Parents who do not run with their child can retrieve them after they finish by showing their tear tag.
Pre-race registration and packet pickup will be available at the Santa Monica Buy Local Health & Fitness Festival on Saturday, September 7th at Reed Park in Santa Monica. This event will be from 11 am to 4 pm. Athletes can pick up their bibs then.
Athletes MUST pick up their own race packet, no exceptions. Those who cannot make it to the festival on Saturday can pick up their bib on race morning. For more information, click here to go to the event webpage.
Race day bib pick-up will be held in Ocean View Park in Santa Monica, beginning at 6:30 am and closing at 8:00 am. Athletes MUST pick up their own race packet, no exceptions. Please allow plenty of time to pick up your race bib as the Santa Monica Classic 5K starts promptly at 8:00 am.

Pick up your finisher shirt, post-race refreshments, and other goodies at the Finish Festival on the Santa Monica Pier. The Finish Festival will be open 8:00 am – 11:00 am with family friendly beach day entertainment!
Awards will be announced at a later date. Age group awards will not be mailed out internationally.
The Santa Monica Classic has two parking options: near the Start Line and near the Finish Line. No matter where you park, allow plenty of time to get to the start. Once the Santa Monica Classic 5K race has started at 8:00 am, many of the surrounding streets are closed and it becomes more difficult to make your way into the area parking lots. Plan to arrive between 30-60 minutes prior to the start of the race.
Parking near the Start Line:
Two parking lots are conveniently located near the Start Line of the Santa Monica Classic. Parking in each of these lots is $12. (Parking lot prices are set by the City of Santa Monica and are subject to change at any time.)

Parking near the Finish Line:
Three parking structures are located near the Finish Line of the Santa Monica Classic on 2nd Street between Wilshire Blvd and Broadway Ave. Parking in each of these lots allows for 90 minutes of free parking with the next hour at $1 cost and any subsequent half-hours at a cost of $1.50. Note: Finish Line parking structures are located approximately one mile from the Start Line — please allow ample time to pick up your race bib.

The sale and/or transfer of race entries/bib numbers is strictly prohibited. All registration fees and ancillary purchases are nonrefundable. All participants are required to show a government-issued photo ID upon picking up their bib.

All entry fees are non-refundable and cannot be deferred toward a future event.
